The SUMO Guy
The SUMO Guy – Helping People and Organisations Thrive Through Change
SUMO is an innovative approach that provides a set of tools and principles to equip people to deal with work and life challenges more effectively.
As a concept, SUMO has been used around the world in the Private Sector, the Public Sector, and Premier League football teams – most notably Manchester City.
SUMO is an acronym that, depending on the context, can stand for ‘Shut Up, Move On’ or ‘Stop, Understand, Move On.’
Paul McGee, owner of SUMO and commonly known as The SUMO Guy, is an expert in human behaviour and performance and a visiting Professor at the University of Chester. He’s spoken for over 1,000 organisations worldwide, from international conferences to individual work with elite athletes. His bespoke messages have resonated with global brands including Harrods, GSK, Adidas, Virgin, the NHS and Lloyds Bank.
SUMO’s offering includes keynotes and workshops, presentation training, coaching and notably SUMO4Schools, which uses the SUMO approach working with Multi Academy Trusts and individual schools. Their main focus is on supporting staff and providing them with the tools and insights needed to help them manage their wellbeing, develop resilience and positively embrace change.
