Sanah's Role
Sanah is part of Event Support Team. As one of the youngest members of the team, she will be available to support our young speaker as well as our younger members of the audience as we look to welcome more attendees aged 16-25 this year.
Work
After recently graduating with a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree, Sanah joined Lymm Business Centre on a temporary apprenticeship scheme. She quickly became Office Manager and it’s also where she met Kirsty and was introduced to TEDx. Her next role took her to work for the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice. Sanah is currently working towards her goal of becoming a psychiatrist.
Play
Sanah liked to read, paint and watch movies. She also enjoys making things out of clay, building Lego and cooking new dishes to test on her sister.
Lesser Known Fact
Sanah was born in Denmark, though most people assume England or Pakistan.
What's your favourite TED/TEDx talk and why?
‘Building a Legacy: The Power of Collective Achievement‘ by our Warrington Curator, Kirsty James.
“One of the reasons this is my favourite talk is because of one specific part within the talk where Kirsty discusses the word ‘just’ and how no-one is ever ‘just’ something. I think people forget about the impact they have on others in their day-to-day life and it can be hard to look at yourself from a positive perspective sometimes. People can get lost in their jobs and the roles they have assigned to themselves and they see them self as ‘just’ that. By noticing the description and being mindful of it, you can change your view of yourself and see how you fit into the collective. No role is too small, no person is lesser than another. It can be very empowering to get out of the ‘just’ mindset (speaking from experience).
