Amanda Wah

Amanda is the BBC Gladiators 2025 Winner and Owner of Momentum Collective Gym in Warrington. She is a coach and strength athlete who has a deep passion for representation in fitness, especially for those left behind by traditional sport.

Life for Amanda is all about family, community, and movement. She runs Momentum with her partner Natalie and loves being a bonus mum to Sullivan and Ida. Losing her mum to early-onset dementia in 2023 sparked her determination to live life to the max. Whether she’s coaching in the gym or speaking in schools, her mission is to show that fitness is for everyone. Amanda believes true strength isn’t about appearance, but instead about heart, resilience, and the courage to keep moving forward – proof that we’re all stronger than we think.

About the talk

After winning Gladiators – the biggest UK fitness show on TV – Amanda realised her purpose wasn’t fame or competition; it was helping the next generation find joy in movement. Her talk focuses on the difference between accessible fitness and competitive sport. Her mission is to inspire joy in movement and to build a national PE programme for schools that prioritises confidence, health and belonging before performance and winning. She has seen how a few simple, intentional changes can shift mindset and allow kids to realise that fitness can work for them.

Interesting Facts

Interesting thing about you that people won’t know

I played football for Everton girls as a child, and held a golf handicap of 4.7. Another interesting fact about me is I love biscuits so much, I wear gold charms of them on my necklace, and my friends and family say my physique is “built by biscuits”.

What achievement makes you most proud?

Winning BBC’s Gladiators was the toughest challenge of my life – every second tested my strength, mindset, and resilience. But I never quit. Lifting that trophy wasn’t just a personal victory; it was a tribute to my friends and family who stood beside me every step of the way. That moment proved one thing: grit beats glamour, every time.

What do you get up to in your spare time?

When I’m not coaching or training, you’ll find me eating good food, camping, hiking, snowboarding, or tucked in bed by 8pm, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what would you be doing instead?

As a kid, my dream job was a truck driver… So probably that!
