Rachel Morgan-Trimmer

Speaker Support

Rachel's Role

Rachel is part of the Speaker Support team, and tasked particularly with backstage planning and AV liaison before and during the event to ensure everyone is mic’d up, calm and prepared before going on stage. Having stepped onto the red dot in 2022, she’s well placed to share her experience. Her day job and her 2023 EDI role also means she’ll assist in flagging potential compliance and inclusion issues.

Work

Rachel is the founder of neurodiversity consultancy Firebird. She trains companies on how to reach, recruit and develop neurodiverse staff, and she also helps people build on their strengths whilst overcoming their challenges. As a neurodiversity advocate, Rachel is also much in demand as a public speaker, and was in fact one of the first TEDx Warrington speakers. She’s ADHD autistic but wasn’t diagnosed until she was in her 40s. Rachel has authored a book, produced an award-winning poster on autism, and is currently working on her stand-up comedy routine.

Play

Rachel goes to the gym, where she mainly does pilates, yoga and swimming. She turned her front garden into a microfarm so much of her spare time is spent battling pests as she tries to grow food. She had 2 kids and enjoys playing with them, whether it’s Lego, Minecraft or running around outside.

Lesser Known Fact

Rachel is learning sign language.

What's your favourite TED/TEDx talk and why?

Too many to pick! Em Baylin’s from 2022 nearly made me cry though.
