Kerry's role

Kerry is our Event Floor Manager, which involves keeping the programme running to time and making sure all the speakers are in the right place at the right time, ready to strut their stuff on stage.

Work

A former communications manager with over 20 years of experience of PR and event management, Kerry has also worked as a fundraising manager and has a wealth of third sector knowledge. She currently works as a part-time bid writer for a large biotechnology firm, which allows her to juggle caring commitments for my two disabled children with my career.

Kerry has three dogs (Pip, Bert & Ernie). When she’s not walking them you’ll find her reading for her book club, going to the theatre, attempting yoga, and volunteering for Muscular Dystrophy UK, FSHD UK & FSHD Europe, as well as for local community causes in Lymm. Kerry also loves travelling and sampling great restaurants with her husband and three children.


What's your favourite TED/TEDx talk and why?

“We don’t ‘move on’ from grief. We move forward with it” by Nora McInerny. 

It’s candid and incredibly poignant, but also very funny. Nora reminds me what it is to grab the chances in life and always move forward, no matter how hard that might sometimes be.

Jane is our Speaker Photographer. She’ll be photographing all the speakers and guests behind the scenes to capture all the lovely candid moments from our event.

Work

Jane is a professional food stylist and photographer based in Cheshire. She’s passionate about helping people to improve their photography and confidence in using their cameras and phones. She offers one-to-one photography tuition and workshops for individuals and businesses.

Play

Jane loves wild swimming and swims all year round (without a full wetsuit!). She also enjoys yoga classes, adores being outdoors and dreams of owning her own camper van.

Andrew's role

Andrew is responsible for documenting our event in picture format, from speaker rehearsals to some of the brilliant headshots you see on this website.

Work

Andrew has been photographing family portraits, pet portraits and weddings since 2009. In 2018, Andrew decided to showcase and market his stunning headshot photography under the justheadshots.photo brand and website. He is renowned in the Warrington area for his portrait photography and his supreme skills in making people feel comfortable in front of his camera.

Play

Husband, father and grandad (AKA Pop) Andrew likes to spend any free time with his family and is fascinated by watching his grandchildren grow up. He enjoys being outdoors and brushing off the cobwebs with a nice long walk.

Kim Griffiths

Kim's role

Kim has a very important supporting role at TEDxWarrington. On the night, you will see her sitting in front of the stage following every word in each speaker’s script. She’s there to prompt our speakers if they lose their words or need a steer in the right direction. Kim has been administrator and prompt for TEDx Northwich since its inception, so we were delighted when she agreed to join our team.

Work

Kim worked for Copley Square Limited (originally Meridian Holdings) as a PA from 1989. The company specialised in contracting work (shop, hotel, sports arena fitting as well as new commercial development. She currently supports the original Chairman in a more rounded position, carrying out PA duties alongside Director and Company Secretary roles.

Play

Kim is a member of her local choir group in Northwich, which she absolutely adores being part of. She also enjoys boxing classes three times a week and baking when she has the time.


What's your favourite TED/TEDx talk and why?

It’s too hard to pick one! I love anything that challenges my current thinking or teaches me something I don’t know. That’s the real value of a TED talk.

Lucy's role

Lucy is tasked with keeping our TEDx fans updated and informed about the event. She writes all the content for the website, plans the messages we share, and is also Kirsty’s deputy on the organising team working on event organisation and delivery.

Work

Lucy is a skilled copywriter and self-confessed grammar geek who loves supporting businesses to develop engaging content and craft their own unique story. She specialises in writing web and blog content, although she loves all forms of the written word, especially working on re-branding projects that mean she can get her Sharpies out and allow her mind to wander in all kinds of weird and wonderful directions.

Lucy spends most of her spare time watching football. She’s a huge fan of the game, has been a Liverpool season ticket holder for over 20 years, and pops along to watch Warrington Town when fixtures allow. She loves a live event and enjoys musicals and comedy shows with friends and family. Her favourite ways to switch off are gardening, walking, a good book, knitting, and learning to crochet.

Kirsty's role

Organising and hosting a TEDx event in her home town has been a long-term dream for Kirsty. She is the licence holder for TEDxWarrington and leads the organising team on event planning, organisation and delivery. She can’t wait for June to arrive with such an incredible opportunity to profile some of the amazing talent and ideas we have in the region.

Kirsty is a networking, marketing and events consultant. She is also the Owner of Colony Networking, Manager of Lymm Business Centre, Co-host of LinkedinLocal Manchester and Warrington, Co-Host of KTS Women in Business, Founder of Think Family Matters, and Co-Founder of SoupOTG Crowdfunding. Kirsty facilitates, hosts and speaks at business development, networking and community events, and offers a range of consultancy services for businesses. She has also fundraised thousands for various regional causes over the years and has received several awards for her community work.

Kirsty is a travel junkie so any extended free time is spent exploring the world and enjoying good food and drink. Paul's role

Prism Studios are the official video production partner of TEDxWarrington. Paul and his team will be filming all the talks on the night before editing them to strict TEDx guidelines and submitting them to the TEDx YouTube channel.

Work

Paul is the owner of Production Company Prism Studios, based in Warrington. He’s an all around creative, specifically in photography, video production and animation. Prism Studios provide videography, photography, production photography, video editing, motion graphics and drone imagery to capture your audience and get your message across.

Play

It’s family first for Paul. But when he’s not spending quality time with his wife and young family, he’s a keen guitar player (still trying to make it as a rock star) and watches a lot of football, especially his team Liverpool FC.

What would we do without Gill?! Her behind-the-scenes role covers all things operations, admin and compliance, from monitoring and responding to emails to organising the TEDxWarrington team.

Work

Gill is a virtual assistant specialising in all things HR. She supports small business owners to streamline their admin processes and get stuff done! A PA for over 20 years, she has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the HR sector. She brings discretion, integrity and confidentiality to every project, supporting her clients in the most efficient way possible.

Gill loves being outdoors, especially spending her free time by the coast. Luckily so does her spaniel Cooper! Gill has also recently rekindled her love of weight training and is loving being back in the gym pumping iron.

I’m a huge Shonda fan (and Grey’s anatomy) and I watched it from that love initially however, her topic totally resonated with me as a creative working mum. Saying yes to things that bring me joy each day is something I really try to do, especially when it comes to time with my girls.

Our resident social media guru, Becs, is responsible for making sure TEDxWarrington is visible across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. She keeps all our followers up to date with what’s happening before and after the big day - and loves a chat with our online fans!

Work

Becs is a social media trainer and consultant with over 120 five-star reviews. She has trained over 600 businesses over the last four years, achieving fantastic results through organic reach for organisations large and small. Her success comes from focusing on the target audience and generating business through building relationships and communities.

When Becs isn’t starring in video games (she’s the Sage in Talisman, Digital Edition), you’ll find her on the squash court most days of the week. She’s a member of the Warrington ladies squash team and also runs junior squash coaching at Warrington Sports Club.

Roz and Sophy's role

Beech Web Services is TEDx Warrington’s website provider. Working closely with the organising team throughout the planning process, they developed our official website and online speaker application portal in line with stringent TEDx guidelines. Roz and Sophy continue to support the team with sound technical advice, website maintenance and actioning our (frequent!) content updates.

Roz Healey is an experienced website developer and digital marketer with 26 years’ experience across SEO, digital marketing strategy and implementation, online advertising and ecommerce. Alongside ‘powerhouse’ WordPress developer Sophy Bostock, they form Beech Web Services. From their base in central Warrington they create and maintain websites and manage digital marketing projects for small and medium sized businesses across Warrington and Cheshire.

Roz and Sophy take the time to fully understand their customers’ needs and evolve their strategy to suit - all the while remaining refreshingly honest. They thrive on taking the stress away from website owners allowing them to spend less time on their website and more time on their business plans.

Roz’s insight, knowledge and experience in creating and updating websites, running Google Ads campaigns, and digital marketing strategy is second-to-none. Not one to stand still, Roz is currently studying towards an MSc in Digital Marketing at Chester University. When she’s not studying, you’ll find her hiking up mountains, kayaking, practising archery, dancing salsa, reading weighty novels, and trips to the theatre.

Sophy at Play

Sophy loves cars and devotes much of her free time to maintaining her beloved Toyota Corolla T Sport, attending car events and hanging out with the racing crowd at Oulton Park. An avid cat lover, she also works as a cat sitter for local Warrington business My Three Cats.

After experiencing a heart attack, a nurse at Cardiac Rehab showed me this presentation when I was concerned that a stressful day at work might trigger another episode. Kelly’s view that that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case blew my mind at the time, and I’ve never worried about it since.

Supasorn Suwajanakorn - Fake Videos of Real People – and How to Spot Them

When you see how easy it is to create fake videos using AI, this talk will shock you like it did me. Now that the technology exists and is growing in popularity, it’s even harder to spot fake content online.
